Memorandum Of Understanding (MoU)
The ICG has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with various Coast Guard Agencies of the world for cooperation on CG relevant maritime issues. Institutionalised High-Level Meetings (HLM) and joint exercises along with operational level interaction are being taken with these agencies. A biennial exercise ‘Dosti’ is also being conducted by the ICG with the Maldives National Defence Force Coast Guard (MNDF CG) since 1991. Since 2012, the ambit of exercise Dosti has been extended to include Sri Lanka.
The ICG also cooperates with maritime agencies of Sri Lanka, Philippines, Mauritius, Seychelles, Bangladesh USA, Oman, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam. A hotline also exists with the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency to facilitate expeditious sharing of information related to fisherman who transgress into each others’ water. ICG has institutionalized arrangements(MoU/MoC) with the following Coast Guard Agencies:-
