Recovery of Integrated Crew Module

ICGS Samudra Paheredar with embarked team from ISRO, VSSC and SDSC SHAR was sailed from Ennore on 11 Dec 14. The first experimental flight of the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mark III was launched at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota at 0930 h and landed at 0950 h on 18 Dec 14 off Indira Point. The ship had tracked the crew module during its travel from launch to its re-entry and subsequently, landing at sea using advance telemetry system from ISRO.

CGDO 779 ex- Port Blair carried out initial surveillance and located the crew module at 1052 h on 18 Dec 14 in position 114 nautical miles South West of Indira point. Thereafter, the ICG ship arrived at datum and recovered the module at 1715 h on 18 Dec 14. Post recovery of crew module, the ICG ship departed area and arrived Ennore port at 0930 h on 21 Dec 14.
