The Flag Officer joined Indian Coast Guard in Jan 1990 and during his illustrious career spanning more than three decades, he has held several key appointments both in afloat and ashore and has a proven track record of outstanding and meritorious performance in all his appointments, which includes operational command of Inshore Patrol Vessel, Fast Patrol Vessel, Offshore Patrol Vessel and Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessel.
In addition to his command responsibilities, the Flag Officer has held various staff appointments which includes Chief of Staff of region North East and Region A&N, Principal Director (Administration) at Coast Guard Headquarters and Officer-in-Charge, Bureau of Naviks. His term as Commanding Officer at Coast Guard Station Mandapam was particularly impactful, where the officer was instrumental in enhancing operational effectiveness and consolidation of administrative framework for service.
On elevation to the Flag Rank in Nov 23, the officer successfully led the Chief of Staff (Western Seaboard) in Mumbai. He has also completed Boarding Ops and Marine Pollution Response course from Virginia, USA. The Officer was awarded Tatrakshak Medal by the President of India in Feb 2012
The Flag Officer hails from Punjab and is married to Ms. Anuradha. The couple have a son, Mihir Saini, who is currently pursuing his Master’s degree at the University of Keil, Germany.
