BRAVING PANDEMIC (COVID-19)

 

1.   CONTRIBUTION BY CGWWA TO PM – CARES FUND.  In response to the Prime Minister’s call for donation to fight against pandemic COVID-19 , Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (CGWWA) under the accomplished leadership of Mrs. Jayanthi Natarajan, President CGWWA, voluntarily contributed Rs 1.50 Lakh to the ‘PM-CARES Fund’ to become the first Armed Forces’ Wives Welfare Association to do so.

2.   BRAVING PANDEMIC (COVID-19)   'Self help' and 'Focus' to harness the talent and skills of its members towards the overall upliftment of the community is hallmark of our vibrant Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association. Current situation presents an opportunity to "Stay at Home" and through innovation and creative ways keep the members gainfully employed and professionally engaged.

 

(A)  CGRHQ (East) and CGRHQ (North East) – To use this lockdown period while tackling COVID- 19, few ingenious and artistic activities were organised. These were done individually maintaining social distancing and through on line submission by means of Whatsapp and E-mail.The details of these activities are as below.

 

(i)   Stitching of Facemasks (using home made material)

To Prevent Spread of COVID-19 (Pandemic), wearing of face masks has been made compulsory. Procurement of masks from mainland amidst the Lockdown posed serious challenge. CGWWA (A&N) took the responsibility of stitching and distribution of double layer face masks thereby ensuring welfare & safety of CG families to live up to its motto of "Self Help".

 Mrs Kirandeep Kaur (Age 46 Yrs) W/o J Singh, P/Adh (ME) prepared 300 masks with material voluntarily and distributed among locals and CG fraternity.

Mrs Nilesh Rawat (Age 40 Yrs) W/o Subhash Chand, Adh (CK) 75 ACV SQN stitched 350 masks voluntarily with material supplied by DHQ – 3 and handed over to DMO for distribution.
