Command Division

Command Division was conducted for all CG units based at Port Blair on 10 Mar 17.  Inspector General Kuldeep Singh Sheoran, PTM, TM, COMCG (A&N) inspected the Command Division.

As part of "Swahch Bharat Abhiyaan" CGAE(PBR) and ICGS C-412 conducted various activities like garbage disposal, cleanship of Jetty and work areas on 01 Mar & 17 Mar 2017 respectively. All ICG Personnel were actively participated in the event.

ICGS Hut Bay conducted Adventure activity for ship’s company and their families at Kala Pathar on 26 Mar 17.

Search and Rescue (SAR)

ICGS Kanaklata Barua had undertaken Search and Rescue (SAR) operation on 04 Mar 17 (Off Katchhal Island,A&N Island) for rescue of merchant ship MV Periya Nayagi.

Medical Evacuation

ICGS Rajveer conducted a medical evacuation operation (MEDEVAC) on 20 Mar 17 during deployment at SGI A&N Island. The ship evacuated the patient from LOP, Tillangchang Island and handed over to Range Officer, Nancowry at Kamorta Island.

CGRPT(PBR), CGRSD(PBR), ICGS Kanaklata Barua, ICGS Rajveer, ICGS Hutbay, ICGS C-146 and ICGS C-428 had conducted Community Interaction Programme for the fishing community at Mannarghat Village(Port Blair) , Teressa Island, Bompoka Island, Machidhera  Villages, Panchayat Bhawan(Neil Island) and Havelock Island  between 05-24 Mar 17. Fisher folks were advised to carry original (un laminated) bio-metric identity cards whilst proceeding to sea for enabling verification through bio-metric card readers by ICG ships and also briefed about the safety of life at sea, violation of IMBL, adherence to weather warning, fishing banned period etc. The fishermen were also briefed  on the procedure for donning of life jackets, usages of SART, DAT, life saving appliances, usage of toll free SAR No. 1554/1093 and enhancing safety awareness among the fishermen.
