2016

Seizure of 17.050 Kg Ganja


In a joint operation with IB and Customs, the Indian Coast Guard seized 17.050 kg of ganja at Forth Island. On carrying out rummaging, the 08 packets each weighing approx 02 Kg were found to be containing ‘Ganja’ buried under sand. The seized contraband was handed over to the Custom Authorities.

2015

Interdiction of Contraband Worth Rs. 1 Crore


In a coordinated operation, ICG units deployed in the Arabian Sea, intercepted a suspected dhow in Jun 15. On boarding and subsequent rummaging, it was revealed that the dhow was carrying Contraband with an estimated value of Rs. 1.0 Crore in International Market.

Apprehension of 232 Kgs of Heroin


In a joint operation with the Indian Navy in Apr 2015, the Indian Coast Guard interdicted a boat with 08 foreign crew carrying 232 packets of heroin (approx 1 Kg each).

Apprehension of 20 Kgs of Sea Cucumber


In Jun 15, an Indian Coast Guard unit whilst on patrol in the Bay of Bengal, apprehended a fishing boat along with five fishermen involved in poaching of Sea Cucumber, which is a banned species under Wild Life Act 1972. The apprehended boat and crew along with 20 kgs of Sea Cucumber was handed over to State Authorites.

Apprehension of 8300 Kgs of Sea Cucumber


In Oct 15, whilst on patrol, an Indian Coast Guard unit apprehended one foreign fishing boat along with
14 fishermen, involved in poaching of 4300 Kgs of Sea Cucumbers (Endangered Species). On the same day, the same Indian Coast Guard unit apprehended one more foreign fishing boat along with 15 fishermen, involved in poaching of 4000 Kgs Sea Cucumbers.

Seizure of 23 Bags of Ganja


In Jun 15, an Indian Coast Guard unit whilst on patrol in the Bay of Bengal, sighted and recovered 23 white coloured Gunny bags from the coastline.On carrying out rummaging, the 23 bags each weighing approx 30 Kg were found to be containing ‘Ganja’. The seized contraband was handed over to the Custom Authorities.

2014

Apprehension of 23 Tons of Red Sanders


In Dec 2014, the Indian Coast Guard intercepted two Dhows in the Arabian Sea which were involved in transshipment of prohibited consignment of 23 Tons of Red Sanders [an endangered species under Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES)]. The value of the consignment in the International Market was estimated at Rs. 9 Crores.

 

 

Apprehension of 06 Tons of Red Sanders


In Mar 2014, an Indian Coast Guard unit on patrol in the Bay of Bengal, apprehended a boat along with 11 crew. The boat was carrying approx 06 Tons of Red Sanders worth Rs 03 Crores in International Market.

Apprehension of 2000 Kgs of Sea Cucumber


In Apr 2014, an Indian Coast Guard unit whilst on patrol apprehended one foreign fishing boat along with 16 crew in the Arabian sea, which was found poaching in Indian waters. The boat was found to be in possession of 2000 kgs of Sea Cucumber.

2013

Apprehension of 07 Tons of Red Sanders


On 29 Dec 13, the Indian Coast Guard apprehended a boat laden with 07 Tons of Red Sanders Wood along  with six crew in the Bay of Bengal.

Apprehension of 500 Kgs of Sea Cucumber


In Mar 2013, whilst on patrol, an Indian Coast Guard unit apprehended a foreign fishing vessel in the Andaman Sea, along with 06 poachers carrying 500 Kgs of sea cucumber

Apprehension of 500 Kgs of Sea Cucumber


In Mar 2013, the Indian Coast Guard apprehended 500 Kgs of Sea Cucumber from a foreign fishing boat along with 11 poachers in the Andaman Sea.
